Forehead Lift
Goal: To lift up and remove the excess forehead skin and correct horizontal and vertical wrinkles on the forehead and between eyebrows, as well as to perform browlift.
Surgical technique: Bicoronal scalp incision (between earlobes) posterior to the hairline is placed in the capilitium, skin is released till orbital rim and excessive skin removed along with the resection of the corrugaror and procerus muscles that cause vertical wrinkles and the strip excisions of the frontal muscle to weaken its function and thus neutralize horizontal wrinkling. One can perform forehead lift alone but more often with the face lift, or Endotine implants that the forehead without removing skin.
Duration and anesthesia: Approximately 2 hours under general anesthesia.
Recovery : Usual activities and hairwash after 2-3 days. Stitches are removed after 10-15 days.
Rare complications: Mild edema and hematoma on the forehead.
Pre-operatory evaluation: To proceed with this surgery the patient has to take a blood and heart test. In case there is a problem with the exams the surgery could not be done to the patient.
