Botox

Botox T and Dysport T are brand names for the purified form of botulinum toxin Type A, which is produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum . When injected into some facial muscles of extremely small doses, it blocks impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles which are related to expression lines. It is most common cosmetic procedure in the United States .

Goal: Correction of already existing wrinkles and prevention of new ones around the eyes, on the forhead and between the eyebrows. This relaxes the muscles to stop them contracting, leaving the overlying skin smooth and unwrinkled. It can not "freeze" your facial expression because it works only on the specific muscles, leaving surrounding muscles to function normally..

Injection technique : After dilution and marking precisely several locations on the face, it is injected using a disposable syringe with a very fine (insuline) needle. The pain associated with injections is minimal and can be prevented by previous cooling of the skin. No local anesthetic is required and one can return to normal activities immediately. Treatment takes around 15 minutes, it takes 2-3 days to begin taking effect and up to 7 days to see the full effect.

Temporary Side Effects: Tenderness or bruising at the site of injection and in some cases temporary weakness in nearby muscles. In rare cases, there can be slight and temporary drooping of an eyelid or eyebrow lasting 1-2 weeks.

It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, during therapy with Aspirine (acetylsalicilic acid) or in some neuromuscular disorders.
The effect lasts 3-5 months or longer and one can repeat the treatment regularly. Clinical studies indicate that the duration of effect increases over time, so you may need less frequent injections in the future to maintain the result.
